In August 'Romance Writers of Australia' held their annual conference in Melbourne. It was excellent, as usual, and the hotel was super swish. I've added some photos of the WINKgirls dressed up for the cocktail party and the dinner.

I've joined the digital age. I've been buying e-books for a couple of years and finally made the jump to an e-book reader. The difference is amazing, much better than printing (bad for the environment) or reading off the computer screen (bad for my eyes).

In fact the only bad thing I have to say about the Sony is it came with a tan cover. Tan, a colour best suited to dachshunds and camels.

Five minutes in my scrap fabrics and another five on the sewing machine fixed the problem. Now my sleek silver e-reader has a red velvet cover and a fancy black ribbon to tie it closed. And no-one need ever see the tan cover again, or my growing e-to-be-read list:).

I'm starting a new story this month. I have lots of bright white paper begging to be written on and a couple of new CD's for inspiration.

I have a 'to be read shelf'. Or it was one shelf then it overflowed and became two. Not neat orderly shelves either. Books were stacked along the top and spilling over onto a third. So I made a new years resolution not to buy any more books until I tamed the TBR shelves. Instead of buying books I've kept a 'to buy list'. It's a long list. But after four months I'm pleased to announce I now have room on my one very neat TBR shelf for one new book.

Wow! Today I got a copy of Wet Ink Magazine in the mail. I'm all smiles. There is something magical about seeing my story in print. It's a feeling I could definitely get used to :)

I got the call! Well it was actually an e-mail. My fantasy short story Dar-otter, Pearl otter, Can't find me will be in the March edition of Wet Ink Magazine (issue 10)
